An outstanding detached barn conversion within the village of Tattenhall.

Description

The Long barn is a six bedroom detached barn conversion presented to a very high standard that takes in impressive rural views out towards Bolesworth and Beeston Castles and the surrounding countryside. The house has a rural feeling yet it is set just on the outskirts of Tattenhall village and the property offers light-filled flexible accommodation arranged over two floors, with outbuildings and the property is set within approximately 2.85 acres.

The Long barn is an outstanding property that has been painstakingly refurbished and renovated by the current owners who purchased the original undeveloped barn back in 1994 from the Bolesworth estate. The period barn has been adapted to create a contemporary family home which is ideal for modern living and entertaining. The house is accessed via a private entrance which leads to a spacious parking area with car port and workshop. There is further parking available on the cobbled driveway in front of the house.

The ground floor comprises a welcoming entrance hall with bespoke Cheshire kitchen with dining area and the kitchen has granite worktops along with a range of high quality fitted units and appliances. The dining area has bi folding doors which frames the impressive views over the garden. From the kitchen there is a utility room, WC, dining room and a large sitting room with log burner. At the centre of the ground floor is a large light filled garden room which provides a relaxing space to entertain but it could also have a variety of uses and there is access out into the garden via double doors. The remaining downstairs comprises a spacious bedroom with en suite shower room.

The first floor comprises a spacious principal bedroom with dressing room, office/ nursery and large en suite bathroom. The principal bedroom is accessed via an elevated walkway which gives it privacy from the rest of the house. There are a further three double bedrooms one with en suite bathroom and there is an additional family bathroom.

The gardens and grounds are a real feature of the Long barn. The total grounds extend to approximately 2.85 acres and there is a large paddock which could be ideal for equestrian use or hobby farming. The remaining grounds contain herbaceous borders, a pond, shrubs, plants, patio areas and paths offering pleasant walks around the property. There is also a car port with log store, workshop and garage and an additional garage at the front of the property.

    Chester

Chester is a walled cathedral city in Cheshire, England, on the River Dee, close to the border with Wales. With a population of 79,645 in 2011, it is the most populous settlement of Cheshire West and Chester, which had a population of 329,608 in 2011, and serves as the unitary authority's administrative headquarters. Chester is the second-largest settlement in Cheshire after Warrington. Chester is also the historic county town of the ceremonial county of Cheshire. Chester was founded as a "castrum" or Roman fort with the name Deva Victrix in the reign of the Emperor Vespasian in 79 AD. One of the main army camps in Roman Britain, Deva later became a major civilian settlement. In 689, King Æthelred of Mercia founded the Minster Church of West Mercia, which later became Chester's first cathedral, and the Angles extended and strengthened the walls to protect the city against the Danes. Chester was one of the last cities in England to fall to the Normans. William the Conqueror ordered the construction of a castle, to dominate the town and the nearby Welsh border. Chester was granted city status in 1541. Chester is one of the best-preserved walled cities in Britain. It has a number of medieval buildings, but many of the black-and-white buildings within the city centre are Victorian restorations, originating from the Black-and-white Revival movement. Apart from a 100-metre (330 ft) section, the Grade I listed walls are almost complete. The Industrial Revolution brought railways, canals, and new roads to the city, which saw substantial expansion and development – Chester Town Hall and the Grosvenor Museum are examples of Victorian architecture from this period. Tourism, the retail industry, public administration and financial services are important to the modern economy.
